At the production stage, manufacturers create secure digital identities or "passports" for each product using technologies like blockchain, NFC chips, or encrypted QR code. This would indelibly link the product to its origin and production details. As the product moves through the supply chain, its digital identity can be verified at each handoff point using the platform's identity verification capabilities based on biometrics, document scanning, database checks etc.

This tracks chain of custody. When a product is sold to an end consumer, their identity is also verified and mapped to the product's digital ID, establishing ownership.
